Governed by chance, erratic in their orbits, these planets are a dance of the circle, the square, and the line. Each of the images was created at the same time as the book A Butterfly Careless, when I was exploring the possibilities of combining three visual elements that would mirror the three lines of the haiku poetry in that book. But they also anticipate the earth’s movement as expressed in Is There Something We Can Do.
