During a residency at Can Serrat in Catalunya, I was fascinated by the olive jars and garden urns on the grounds outside the building, and so began a group of sketches and watercolors that documented those forms and led me to others. Among the paintings that came out of that experience are the Spanish olive jars and cazuelas, a biconical vessel from the Danube Valley, 5000 BC, and depictions of pieces from my own collection of vases and pots.
